Trek Itinerary
Day 1: Newjalpaiguri (NJP) to Yuksom
- 150km/8hrs Drive to Yuksom from New Jalpaiguri
- Legship will be the last ATM point.
- Trek briefing and paperwork session will be at 5-6 PM
- En-route Place: Tista Bazaar, Melli Check Post, Jorethang, Legship
- Citizens of Bangladesh, China, and Myanmar are not allowed to trek in Sikkim.
- Note: Foreign nationals must obtain an Inner Line Permit (ILP) for entry into Sikkim, as well as a Trek Permit for the trek.
Welcome to Yuksom
Yuksom, meaning "meeting point of the three lamas," was Sikkim's first capital. Legend has it that three Tibetan monks crowned the first king (Chogyal) here in 1641. This peaceful town offers tranquility amidst stunning natural beauty.

Day 2: Yuksom to Sachen
- 8 km trek to Tshoka, which will take around 5-6 hours.
- Trail Type: Ascent, Descent, and Plain Walk
- You’ll find 1-2 water points along the route.
- Today you will cross 2 suspensions and one cemented bridge.
- Sachen is a small campsite located within a dense forest.
- Note: Beware of leeches on the Trails, Bring salt or spray to keep them away.

Day 3: Sachen to Tshoka Via Bakhim
- 7 km trek to Tshoka, which will take around 4-5 hours.
- Trail Type: Moderate to Steep ascent Till Tshoka
- There is only one water point (Bakhim)
- Today you will cross one suspension Bridge.
- Peak Visible: Mt. Pandim(6,691m), Jopuno (5,891m)
Tshoka Lake
Tshoka, near a Buddhist monastery, is a peaceful lake perfect for acclimatization walks. Surrounded by mountains, it's quiet and serene, with Buddhist flags gently swaying in the fresh mountain breeze. It's a great place to relax and get used to the altitude, surrounded by greenery and the calmness of the Himalayas.
Bakhim: Offers a bird's-eye view of the valley
Bakhim, en route to Tshoka, provides a bird's-eye view of the valley. There's a small café where you can order tea and enjoy the beauty of the valley.

Day 4: Tshoka to Dzongri Via Phedhang
- 9 km trek to Dzongri, which will take around 6-7 hours
- It is going to be the Challenging day of your Trek
- Trail Type: Moderate to Steep Ascent
- Enjoy lunch at Phedang, with prayer flags lining the surroundings.
- Trek through lush Rhododendron forests to reach Dzongri, a scenic campsite
- No Water point on the way

Day 5: Accmalatization Day in Dzongri
- Early morning 1 km trek to Dzongri Top for sunrise.
- Avoid sleeping during the day to acclimatize your body.
- Peak Visible: Kanchenjunga, Pandim, Frey, Kabru Dome, Black Kabru, Jupono
Dzongri Top
Dzongri Top, at 13,500 feet, offers a 180-degree panoramic view of the majestic peaks of the Singalila and Kanchenjunga ranges. From here, you can see peaks like Kakthong, Rothang, Kabru South, Kabru North, Kabru Dome, the Kanchenjunga range, Pandim, and the Lama Lamini peaks.

Day 6: Dzongri to Thangsing via Kokchurang
- 8 km trek to Thangsing, which will take around 7-8 hours
- Trail Type: Gradual to steep descent to Kokchurang, then ascent to Thangsing.
- Only one water point on the way (Kokchurang)
- Kokchurang has a trekker hut but limited space for tents; the Prek Chu river flows nearby.

Day 7: Thangsing to Summit and back to Thangsing
- Early morning 15 km Trek to Summit (View Point-1) and back to Thangsing
- As you climb higher, get ready for the longest trekking day of the journey.
- Witness the breathtaking sunrise and alpenglow on Kanchenjunga, a memorable sight.
- No Water point on the way
- Peaks Visible: Kabru North & South, Kabru Dome, Kanchenjunga, Gocha Jupano, Simvo, Pandim, Tenzingkhang
Samiti Lake (14,000 ft.)
Get beautiful reflections of Mt. Pandim and the surrounding hills, creating a magical scene. Enjoy the deep blue waters and possible waves if windy; spot mountain goats and bluebirds along the serene lakeshores.
