Day 2: Flight to Lukla (2,860m) and Trek to Phakding (2,610m)
- Distance: Flight (30 mins), trek (8 km; 4-5 hours)
- Ascent/Descent: Mostly descent with some gradual inclines.
- Early morning 30-minute flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2,860m).
- Start trekking through pine forests and rhododendron.
- Pass small villages, bridges, and local teahouses.

The flight from Kathmandu (or Ramechhap) to Lukla is an exciting start to the Everest trek! In just a short time, you'll fly over beautiful valleys and mountains, landing at Lukla—the gateway to Everest.

Day 3: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m)
- Distance: 11 km; 6-7 hours
- Ascent/Descent: Gradual ascent, then steep climb before Namche
- Follow Dudh Koshi River; cross suspension bridges with colorful prayer flags.
- Pass Monjo village and enter Sagarmatha National Park.
- Today, you’ll get your first look at Mount Everest
- Long ascent after crossing Hillary Suspension Bridge.
- Water points available at tea houses in Monjo and Jorsalle.
- Your trekking permit will be checked, and officials will record all trekkers moving forward.

Day 4: Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar
- Short acclimatization hike (1-2 hours)

Day 9: Lobuche to Everest Base Camp (5,364m) via Gorak Shep (5,170m)
- Distance: 12 km; 8-9 hours round trip
- Ascent/Descent: Gradual climb to EBC, descent back to Gorak Shep
- Early morning trek from Lobuche to Gorakshep: 6 km, around 3-4 hours
- Gorakshep to EBC: 3 km each way, about 3 hours round trip
- Trek through rocky terrain to Gorak Shep (5,164m).
- Drop your bags, then continue to Everest Base Camp.
- Lunch is at Gorakshep.
- Walk alongside Khumbu Glacier and enjoy close-up views of surrounding peaks.
- No water sources on the way to EBC; carry enough from Gorak Shep.

Note
Drinking water at Gorakshep isn’t free. You’ll need to buy it, costing between $1 and $3 per bottle, with prices increasing closer to base camp.
