Day 1: Dehradun to Sankri
- 200 km drive to Sankri from Dehradun
- Duration: 9-10 hours drive
- En-route Place: Mussoorie (Queen of Hills), Kempty Falls, Naugaon, Purola, MoriÂ

Welcome to Sankri
Reach Sankri village by the evening. Sankri is a picturesque hamlet nestled in the Himalayas of Uttarakhand, serving as the gateway to numerous treks and expeditions in the region.

Duryodhana, a character from the epic Mahabharata, is worshipped in a temple located in the Osla Village. This temple is unique as it is one of the rare places where a Kaurava is venerated.

The best time to do the Har Ki Dun Trek is from April to June and September to November. During these months, the weather is stable and the snow has melted, making the trek easier.
The chances of altitude sickness on the Har Ki Dun trek are relatively low. This is because the trek does not reach extremely high altitudes, with the highest point being around 3,656 meters (12,000 feet). However, individuals vary in their susceptibility, so it’s still important to acclimatize properly and stay hydrated.
The Har Ki Dun Trek is rated easy to moderate. Though the trail isn’t technically difficult, it covers a long distance, demanding good physical fitness. The trek features both flat walks and steep climbs.
Beginners can join the Har Ki Dun Trek, but they should be in good shape and do some basic fitness training beforehand to manage the trek’s physical demands.
